Amy Johnson Flying Initiative – Future Pilots

Description

easyJet has launched the Amy Johnson Flying Initiative in partnership with the British Women Pilots’ Association to increase the proportion of new entrant easyJet pilots who are female.

Amy Johnson was an inspirational role model for female pilots. She had true pioneering spirit and in 1930, she was the first woman to fly solo to Australia. Through the initiative, we hope to see a new generation of female pilots feeling inspired to start an amazing career in aviation.

Currently women make up 6% of easyJet’s new pilot intake. Just over 5% of easyJet’s 2,700 pilots are female, which is currently in line with the industry as a whole. Our plan is to double the proportion of female new entrants to 12% over two years and this is the first phase of a long term strategy.

easyJet has also committed to provide additional support to develop and retain female pilots, so that more of them can go on to achieve captaincy and pilot management roles.

Smart, friendly, positive and upfront; you’ll add to our famous Orange Spirit. You’ll also have a real passion to be part of a highly professional and successful team.
